GODMOTHER CABINET

These images, postcards, letters, stickers, family photo albums, that populated my childhood in my godmother and grandmother house, inspired my first artistic works. They constituted symbolic places, identification models  of what it would be like to be a woman, a man, a child, a couple, a film star. Images and narratives that I incorporated unconsciously and which disturbed me, beginning to unleash a place of doubt and questioning of the patriarchal ideology that would be revealed in my later works. The collage and the tearing of the surfaces allowed me to begin to deconstruct those symbolic layers of signifiers that I was beginning to question and displace from their naturalised places.
