In the directory
"...\DASxxx\DRIVERS\DMM\"
select and execute DSCUDInstall.exe
The Diamond Systems Corporation Universal Driver (DSCUD) install both the kernel-mode and user-mode resources you'll need in order to develop and run DSCUD-based applications. The kernel-mode (system) files differ depending on your platform. This installer automatically detects the proper files and directories, this is only for your information:
If you are using a version of Windows NT, 2000 or XP, this will install:
windrvr.sys, dscudkp.sys => "C:
The installer will register these devices so that they will begin automatically when Windows boots.
At the next screen, you will have the option to install only the files mentioned above (check the box) or to install both the system files and the developer files (uncheck the box). If installed, the developer files will be copied to the directory of your choice, and will include all files needed to create a DSCUD application on every platform we support. If you are an end user and do not need the developer files, check the box indicating this choice. You can find the dscud55.dll file in the dll directory. Remember, the directory you choose at the following screen is for the developer tools only.
The system files will be put in the proper location automatically.
If at the first Execution of the program you receive an error like:
"This application has failed to start because PortIO32.dll was not found....."
You have to install the PortIO drivers located in the "..\IO_Port32\win\driver" directory in the root dir of DASxxx (i.e. "C:\Program Files\DASxxx", where xxx is the DAS version)
To install the driver proceed as explained below:
Start –> Settings –> Control Panel –> Add Hardware –> Next –>
Select "Yes, I have already connected....." –> Next
Select "Add a new hardware device" –> Next
Select "Install the Hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)" –> Next
Wait for a while!!!! then –> Next
select "Show all devices" –> Next
Wait again for a while (it takes some minutes,3-5)
Select the button "Have disk" and Browse the "...DRIVERS\IO_Port32\win\driver"
folder. Select "portio32.inf" file. Press "open" and then "OK".
Finally select the "PortIO32 Port I/O Driver" and press "Next".
One more "Next" and then "Finish".
Now You can run the DAS program.
After the OS installation please update the system and provide the drivers for the NOVA monoboard installed: The NOVA drivers are located in the folder "...DASxxx\DRIVERS\NOVA_Drivers". In the "\SingleBoardComputer" folder there are 3 subfolder for the monoboard model can be used with DAS:
Depending on the equipment the right folder has to be used :-)
For the SPATRAMPLUS, SPATRAM2, GASCODNG1 and GASCODNG4 instrument (with the 945GSE) an additional driver for the control of the monoboard I/O ports has to be installed. Inthe folder .."\NOVA_Drivers\SuperIO\ISMM" please run the file "iSMM EN V1.13.05.msi"
