In Biology I am involved in teaching and in research at the Évora University. Any topic dealing with Genetics is of interest to me, but Developmental Biology cuts the deepest groove. For the time being, I am currently pointing my research in two directions: ectomycorrhizae and isoenzyme analysis.

Of all my devotions, Music is no doubt the one I have explored the most. I have directed choirs and hosted local radio programmes, besides having a passion for composition. Other arts that I enjoy a lot are Poetry and Cinema.

I also used to write from time to time to the Portuguese press, and was an occasinal collaborator for the venerable Anarchist journal A BATALHA.
